Spring is in full bloom and what better way to celebrate than with a collection of butterfly beauty images from Giuliano’s archive? Get inspired by these colorful looks and stunning creatures and enjoy all the beauty that comes with the season! 

As many of you know, Giuliano has been busy (in his nonexistent downtime) creating some amazing personal work over the last few years, and his fine art is really taking off. With upcoming shows all over the globe and new projects in the works…well, let’s just say it’s an exciting time to be at Lightbox.

One of Giuliano’s series, Odyssey, is being featured in a show at the Geras Tousignant Gallery in San Francisco, with an opening reception on May 10th. If you are going to be in or around the San Francisco area next Friday and would like to attend the show, please RSVP to gerastousignant@gmail.com – space is limited! The show will be on display until June 19th, so even if you can’t make the opening, we’d love for you to pop in and take a look!

A few months ago, Giuliano was asked to shoot counter-culture icon (and one of my personal heroes) Peter Fonda (!!!) for Australian magazine Kurv. We spent the day laughing, listening to music, hanging out with his lovely wife, hearing amazing candid stories, and receiving an unexpected education about important environmental issues close to Mr. Fonda’s heart (for more on that, please visit www.peterfonda.com).

We’ve been patiently waiting to release the shots, and finally, the Kurv issue hit news stands this week. We’ve had some cold weather lately in LA – it even got down to 40° F in some areas this week and believe it or not, our (distant) mountains are covered in a dusting of snow. That’s a big deal in this neck of the woods! It’s been a crazy winter storm season and to our friends who get real snow, we don’t know how you do it! In sympathy for the snow, we’re posting some of our favorite shots from our man-made Malibu snow storm last month for New Zealand based shoe and bag company Merchant 1948 with creative director Thomas Cannings.
