Having a Gas(ol)

Yesterday was a wacky day at the studio. We have three different model castings, four client meetings, and two shoots to plan before the end of this week!

Fortunately, Pau Gasol showed up to calm everyone down.

Kidding, of course. The L.A. Lakers Center actually stopped by to consult with Giuliano about concepts for an upcoming shoot, then stayed a little while to watch the Knicks/Heat game we were broadcasting in one of our empty studios.

Pau couldn’t have been nicer, and graciously obliged to pose for pictures with everyone in our office. It was a happy ending to a hectic day!

Be sure to catch Pau in all his glory when the Lakers beat the Kings tonight!

Project Manager Diana poses with Pau. She is 5'9". He is taller.

City Sleeker

What do you picture when you think of downtown?

For most, the term conjures up a very specific image. Honking cars, skyscrapers, suited men and women scurrying about to fulfill their daily duties; downtown represents the vibrant ebb and flow of city life. Though the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan center is certainly stimulating, it can be easy to get lost in the crowd.

Giuliano’s newest fashion editorial combats urban anonymity with his signature glam aesthetic. In these exclusive images, our model stands out from a sea of suits in fiery brights and expertly coiffed hair. While her fellow professionals are churned in the daily grind, this career woman is taking care of business.

Beauty Call

January 2011 has been a beautiful time in the studio.

Yes, projects are going well and we’re all happy to back at work full force after the holidays, but what’s been giving this month an extra sparkle is the number of beauty stories we’ve been shooting! Here are two photos from Giuliano’s most recent editorial:

Petals or metals…which do you prefer?

Shatter Speed

Greetings earthlings. In case you didn’t get the memo, it’s 2011.

The future is here, and even though we’re not flying in cars or discovering four million year-old monoliths on the moon, we are taking some pretty cutting-edge photographs.

By we, I of course mean Giuliano, who shot an über-futuristic editorial last week. Featuring a sultry speed-trailed model fragmented by mirrored pieces and angular lines, the images mash up time and space into one stellar fashion adventure.

Behind the scenes

Mirror, Mirror

Yesterday, Giuliano shot a Spring beauty story for Harper’s Bazaar Asia.

Inspired by mirrors and the often-overlooked details their reflections expose, Giuliano and crew built a round mirrored contraption that presented multiple angles of the model’s face all in one image. Futuristic, fragmented, and a little twisted, the images came out beautifully.

To score model Emma’s sophisticated style, here’s a break down of the looks our glam team concocted. Make up artist Riku Campo created fresh off the runway faces using products by Armani Beauté, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Guerlain, Dior Skincare and Ole Henriksen Skincare. Manicurist Beth Fricke polished Emma’s nails with O.P.I. and hair stylist John Blaine smoothed her maine with Max Gel and Shine Spray by KMS California. Can you blame the girl for looking in the mirror?

Check back for updates on the story’s progress.

Jessica Alba Behind the Scenes

After all of this posting and online chatter about Giuliano’s Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot with Jessica Alba, we thought it would be fun to share some behind the scenes footage with all of you. Special thanks to Bryant Robinson for shooting, editing, and compiling the video!

Jessica Alba is EVERYWHERE

It turns out Australia isn’t the only country with Jessica Alba gracing the cover of their January issues of Harper’s Bazaar! After doing some web research, we found that she is also featured on the covers of Haper’s Bazaar Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Word on the street is she will be Thailand’s cover girl next month. Get it, girl.
